Summary and Description. The Academy seeks an Associate Director of Finance to direct financial reporting and analysis. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Associate Director will regularly coordinate efforts with the Finance staff, the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration and colleagues across all departments. Primary responsibilities will include financial reporting and analysis, conducting monthly meetings with Department Directors, and preparing quarterly Board reports. The Associate Director will contribute to closing the books on a timely basis each month to enhance the timeliness and relevance of financial reporting.. Essential Duties and Responsibilities. The successful candidate will:. Work with the Finance Director to exploit the full capabilities of the MIP accounting system and explore other tools to streamline and automate processes and reporting.. Partner with the Director of Finance to improve reporting to Department Directors and to the Board.. Produce scheduled and ad hoc financial reports for monthly close, board meetings and other needs as they arise.. Prepare reports and analyses for annual audits.. Other duties and special projects as assigned.. Qualifications. Accounting degree. CPA required, Master's degree preferred. 7 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a nonprofit setting. Experience with MIP preferred. Strong technical, interpersonal and communication skills and experience leading teams. Demonstrated track record of professionally responsible positions and success in implementing improvements in financial reporting and analysis
