Position Description:. Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) seeks a Portfolio Manager, VP for its New York, NY location. Job ID 25384.. Duties: Develop, present and execute trading strategies for various fixed income, foreign exchange, and interest rate swap financial instruments, including cross-currency swaps, specifically for the Canadian market. Conduct quantitative research, financial analytics, and financial modeling to develop short- and long-term financial forecasts and execute trades across interest rates and credit products issued in Canadian dollars for the firm including governments, agencies, provincials, corporates, ABS and derivatives. Support development of PIMCO's Canadian macroeconomic outlook, strategies and alpha generating trade ideas, as well as PIMCO's proprietary Canadian leverage model used to keep mutual funds in accordance with Canadian regulatory rules. Generate returns for the Canadian markets to calibrate risk and hedging flows for Canadian fixed income portfolios and to maintain compliance with internal and external requirements for Canadian portfolio. Develop strategies for US Financial Institutions Group portfolios with specific understanding of accounting for insurance mandates and optional allocation of risk budgets. Prepare daily research notes and request market updates on trading levels, news, and opinions for Canadian market movement, and support account managers by providing updates on the markets, portfolio construction, and alpha strategies based on market conditions, philosophy, process, and performance. Work with regional credit desks to provide analysis and recommendations on relative value of CAD bonds compared with the global bond universe. Handle account restructurings and new account funding in accordance with custom portfolio guidelines. Communicate with internal and external parties to provide portfolio summaries, analyses, recommendations, etc. Drive new business development through marketing.. Position Requirements:. Requirements: Must have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or related quantitative field, followed by seven (7) years of post-bachelor's, progressive experience in the position offered or closely related position. Employer will also accept MBA degree in the stated fields and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or closely related position. At least three (3) years of experience must include conducting quantitative research, financial analytics, and financial modeling with an employer specializing in fixed income trading or structuring, investment banking, or private equity area; optimization and portfolio management for multibillion dollar portfolios, including generating investment strategies and trading recommendations applying economic theory with a macroeconomic outlook for portfolios; trading several million DV01 in risk; trading various CAD$ securities (governments, agencies, provincials, corporates, ABS, and derivatives); Canadian portfolio construction applying Canadian mutual fund regulations within Canadian leverage model; using trading software and data management tools (Bloomberg and SQL); and communicating with internal and external parties (i.e. clients, issuers, bankers, lawyers) regarding investment strategies or activities.
